It Does Not Seem Fair

Maybe it is just because I am a male, but I do not understand why an ACCUSED person has his face splashed all over the news web sites, along with their names and the victim is always hidden. Why can't BOTH be hidden until the trial is over with?

I just hit www.drudgereport.com and saw pics of the two Duke lacrosse players who are accused of raping a 27 year old stripper. The only info we have on her is that she is a NCSU student with 2 children, is 27 years old, and she is black. Thanks to the media, we now have the names, ages, and PICTURES of the men accused of raping her. We even know that one of the males has been in trouble in the past for assault. If we are going to slinging mud, then this could get ugly on both parts.

Sad. Guilty or innocent, these males will be tarnished the rest of their lives. If they are guilty, then the shame is warranted. But what if they are innocent? What if the woman is making this up? Would you want to try to live with the stigma of being arrested for RAPE? I have spoken to a few men who have be accused of rape (it never went to trial) and they are very bitter people.
