Wow. I just got finished upgrading my work laptop (HP nc-6510 / 2 gig RAM / Vista) to SP1 a little while ago and all I can say is. "wow...that took forever".
I started the download from our company intranet and then began the install. It took about two hours total to install the Service Pack. I am pretty sure I have installed Ubuntu quicker than that. Why did it take so long to install? I am pretty sure that none of the XP Service Packs took two hours. Maybe it is just the way that Vista handles SP installation compared to other OS's. I am just glad that I had the time to do it at work and that it was my work machine, not my home PC. Ubuntu Linux on the primary partition with a Win XP install for guests.
